Sylvia Steckmest levede han 1670 i Stadthagen og drog så til Emden, hvor han blev menighedsforstander. (Falk) "At Emden we were the guests of Abraham Stadthagen, who was a close relative of my husband's - his father Reb Moses Kran, of Stadthagen, was an uncle. We remained over New Year and has so enjoyable a holiday that we forgot the Dollart completely (Glücel havde været søsyg på en skibsrejse). The same Abraham Stadthagen was a praiseworthy man. He not only received us with all the honours in the world,, but at the same time entertained six billet strangers (studerende eller vandrende lærde) who had seats t the same table and ate and drank the same food and drink as we. And I may add that I have never seen the like at any other rich man's board" (Glückel von Hameln, S. 82) I en anden udgave: Weiner citerer Gluckl Hamnl, s. 126: "On the day before the festival of the New Year we prepared ourselves in a timely manner and went to Emden and were the guests of Abraham of Stadthagen. The latter and my husband are closely related. The father of Abraham Emden was the Rabbi Mosche Kramer von Stadthagen and was the cousin of my husband"..."The Rabbi Abraham was a splendid man. Not only did he treat us wonderfully and gave us all the honour in the world but had as well another 6 invited guests sitting at his table, who had to eat and drink everything just as we did, and I must say, I have never seen anything like it elsewhere".
