  "George St. Clair Jackson, 81, died Nov 29, 2001 in Salt Lake City, UT. Born Aug 1, 1920 in Ophir, Tooele County, UT to Swan and Minnie St. Clair Jackson. Married Grace Nielsen June 9, 1949 in Las Vegas, NV. Marriage later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He served with the 2nd Marine Division in the Pacific Theater of operations during World War II. Worked at the Tooele Smelter for 10 years and at the U.S. Bureau of Mines in Salt Lake City as a Physical Science Technician for 32 years, retiring in 1985. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in three bishoprics. He served in various positions in scouting, helping many young men obtain Eagle Scout Awards, and in many other church positions. He is survived by a son, James; daughter, Mary Jo Alexander; grand-daughter, Mary Wharton; brother, Dean; and by loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; and sisters, June, Marcella. Services will be Tues. Dec 4, 2001, 11 a.m., Big Cottonwood 10th Ward chapel, 1685 E. Delaware Lane (4930 S.), Salt Lake City, UT, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial, Tooele City Cemetery 2 p.m. Family suggests donations to a favorite charity in lieu of flowers."
