South Jordan, Utah – Our beloved husband, father, papa, brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on June 16, 2021.
Dave was born on April 29, 1956, in Murray, Utah to George A. Richards and Lois Jean Richards. He was the sixth of eight children.
Dave married the love of his life, Tammy L. Mulholland, on Sept 17th, 1977. They created a beautiful life and raised three amazing children.
Dave started his career in law enforcement in 1984 with Granite School District Police Department and retired as a police sergeant in 2019. During the course of his career he selflessly helped and impacted many lives on and off duty.
Dave loved spending time with his family and especially loved his grandchildren's smiles. He loved going to all their games. He loved traveling, camping, fishing and hunting with family and friends. He was an amazing gardener and his yard is beautiful.
Dave is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Tammy; his children, Brandon (Jackie) Richards, Jason (Danijela) Richards and Justine (Trenton) Tolman; grandchildren, Colby, Alyssa, Jordan, Mason, Carson, Taylor, and Sofia; his siblings, Claudia (Roger) Keddington, Phillip (Karen) Richards, Conway (Annette) Richards, CeCille (Anthony) Hall, Tom (Linda) Richards, John (Amber) Richards, and Connie Berrett. Many nieces and nephews.
A Viewing will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home, 1007 W Jordan Pkwy, South Jordan, UT on Monday, June 21st from 10:00 to 11:15 a.m. Graveside Service following at South Jordan Cemetery, 10630 S 1055 W at 12:00 p.m.
