Myron Martin Sorensen was born Dec. 24, 1914 in Blair to Nels C. and Amy (Jensen) Sorensen and grew up on a farm by Orum. He served in World War II. After his term in the service, he worked at the Holmquist Elevator in Blair and farmed. He later drove trucks for Denver-Chicago for 30 years, retiring in 1979. He was a member of the VFW Club and a retired volunteer fireman. He is survived by six nieces and their spouses, Joleen and Larry Nielsen of Hooper; Sylvia and Don Purkey of Las Vegas, Nev.; Beverly Ohline of New Zealand; Jacqueline and John Evans and Jeanette Sorensen, all of Orange, Calif.; Penelope and Richard Lynch of Springfield, Va.; three nephews and their spouses, Robert and Jackie Sorensen of Green Lane, Penn.; Christian and Julie Sorensen of Crooked River Ranch, Ore.; and Terrence Sorensen of Spokane, Wash.; two sisters-in-law, Solange Sorensen of Orange, Calif.; and Eleanor Sorensen of Spokane Valley, Wash.; one brother-in-law, F.H. Doucette of Tucson, Ariz. He was preceded in death by five brothers; one sister; one nephew and one niece." (Published in The Enterprise, May 23, 2008)
